2-Ethylhexanoic Acid (2-EHA)
DESCRIPTION |
2-Ethylhexanoic acid is an organic compound with the formula CH3(CH2)3CH(C2H5)COOH. It is a carboxylic acid that is widely used to produce lipophilic metal derivatives, soluble in nonpolar organic solvents. 2-Ethylhexanoic acid is a colorless viscous oil with a characteristic odor, supplied as a racemic mixture. Alkanoic acid ( Monobasic terminal carboxylic acid) is an isomer of octane (capronic) acid. 2-Ethylhexanoic acid (2-EHA) from the point of view of chemical properties, is a strong reducing agent. Its main advantage is the high boiling point. The purpose of such a composition is to accelerate chemical processes without damaging the structure of the product. |
