Using glycerin at home saves money by replacing expensive cleaners and stain removers. Consider why glycerin is needed in everyday life and in which recipes for caring for your body it can be used.

Glycerin helps in cleaning

 

 

Glycerol suitable for full house cleaning. It is used:

To protect varnished and polished surfaces from dust. You need to soak the napkin with glycerin and wipe the pieces of furniture with it;

For cleaning floors (laminate, linoleum, parquet and any other coverings). To make the floor shine, you just need to add 2-3 tablespoons of glycerin to a bucket of water and stir;

To update the look of leather goods, including leather upholstery. You just need to wipe the material with glycerin. The composition is effective for the treatment of joints and abrasions. The procedure can be repeated several times until the scuffs become less noticeable;

For washing windows. It is necessary to prepare a product consisting of 70 ml of water, 30 g of glycerin and a few drops of ammonia;

For wiping glasses and mirrors.

You can use glycerin in everyday life and to wipe the rubber seal on the refrigerator door to make it more elastic and better perform its functions. If the windows fog up or freeze, you can mix the substance with ethyl alcohol in a ratio of 1:10 and apply to the inside of the windows. Then you need to wipe the surface with a dry cloth.

Take 10 ml of liquid soap, glycerin, water and mix the components;

Treat with rust and leave for a day;

Wipe the dirt off with a damp cloth.

Dyes

To deal with paint and ink, use the following algorithm:

Mix ammonia and glycerin in equal proportions;

Apply to stain and leave on for 1 hour;

Wash with powder.

It is best to use this method for fresh stains rather than those that have dried out a long time ago.

Alcoholic drinks, berries, juices, tea, coffee

To remove wine stains, glycerin is heated to 50 degrees, then applied to the surface and rubbed lightly. Next, the product must be washed with powder.

Glycerin is used in everyday life and to combat berry traces on colored fabric. For this, the substance is mixed with egg yolk (one yolk per 30 ml of glycerin). The composition is applied to the problem area and left for 3 hours, and then wiped off with a damp sponge. The same remedy is suitable for stains from tea, coffee, chocolate.

To clean woolen and silk products, the following method is used: mix glycerin with ammonia in equal proportions and add three times more water. Then the product is applied to the stain with a cotton swab, and after 10 minutes it is removed with a damp sponge.

Chocolate is removed in a similar way, only the recipe does not use ammonia, but table salt. To combat stains from tea and coffee on light-colored products, the following method is used: the substance is heated in a water bath, rubbed into the traces of drinks and left for 3 hours. Then the glycerin is removed with a damp cloth, and the product is dried.

Softening the fabric after washing

 

 

The properties of glycerin make it a versatile household product. For example, if the product has become rough after washing, you can soften it in this way:

After washing, do not dry the clothes, but place them in a container with water and glycerin diluted in it for 20 minutes. For 3 liters of water, 5 g of the substance is used;

After that, you need to rinse the laundry in a solution of water and ammonia (1 teaspoon of alcohol per 1 liter of water).

The garment will become softer to the touch.

You can use glycerin in everyday life for masks in various ways. Here are some simple recipes:

  1. To prepare a moisturizing mask, you need to mix 2 tbsp. tablespoons of water and one spoonful of the substance. Then add the egg yolk to the composition and stir the mixture. The mask is applied to the face for 15 minutes and washed off with warm water.
  2. To refresh the skin, take 2 tablespoons of water, mix with 5 ml of glycerin and add a slice of lemon, previously chopped. Then add the mixture with one yolk and 15 ml of sour cream. After mixing, apply the product for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.

For hand skin

Glycerin is actively used in everyday life and for hand skin care. These recipes need to be applied for two months, then the effect will be noticeable:

  1. Mix 1 teaspoon of glycerin and honey, as well as 2 g of borax and 70 ml of water. Mix the two solutions and add 20 ml of vodka;
  2. Fill the glass one third with water, and then add 40 g of glycerin, 10 ml of ammonia and a few drops of essential oil.

Both products are applied to the hands and left to absorb. They protect the skin well from drying out in winter.

You can use glycerin at home in these recipes:

To restore hair, you need to take 2 tablespoons of castor oil, yolk, mixed with 1 tbsp. spoon of apple cider vinegar and add 1 tbsp. a spoonful of glycerin. After mixing, apply for 40 minutes, rinse with cold water;

For periodic hair care, you need to mix 2 egg yolks, 1 teaspoon of glycerin and a few drops of citrus essential oil. Stir, apply to hair and keep warm for half an hour, then rinse with water.

How to remove glycerin stains from clothes?

Glycerin is an excellent solvent, therefore it effectively removes various impurities from clothes. But after use, traces may remain from it.

You can use this recipe: mix 10 ml of the substance, 10 ml of ammonia and 30 ml of water. Pour the composition over the dirt and leave for an hour, then wash in warm water.

This is a good option for synthetics and cotton, but not for silk and wool. You also need to carefully apply the product to products that contain elastane (the fabric may be damaged).

Using glycerin for cleaning the house from dust and other purposes is completely safe. In cosmetics, it does not harm our body, and when cleaning it is harmless to the environment.
